Gift of Healing
'GIFT OF HEALING’ - A 'Kingdom of God' conference has drawn 6,000 people from all over the county to Crisler Arena for a series of talks and workshops related to 'the gift of healing. Mary Cavanagh, a member of the local Word of God community, said the conference is sponsored by the Word of God community, the Michigan Christian Association, and the Sword of the Spirit community, an international community of which the Word of God is a branch. The conference, led by John Wimber, associated with the Fuller Theological Seminary in California, includes talks by Wimber and 'healing workshops. More healing workshops are scheduled tonight and Saturday morning. The presentation 'is to encourage people to recognize their God-given power to extend the gift of healing to other people, and for their own internal physical and spiritual healing,' Cavanagh said.
