Former rector to help St. Andrew's celebrate

The Rev. Gordon M. Jones Jr., former rector of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, will return to the church Sunday for the observance of the beginning of the Advent season and the feast of St. Andrew, patron saint of the parish.

Active in church affairs at the diocesan and national level, Jones was also involved in community and university activities while in Ann Arbor from 1964 to 1982.

He and his wife are now retired and living in Tiverton, R.I.

Advent - the season of preparation for Christimas - will begin at St. Andrew’s with music and liturgy of the season at the morning services on Sunday, and with “Evensong,” followed by a potluck supper and Advent wreathmaking event at 5 p.m.

The Sunday morning services will be followed by a bagpipe and drum recessional, led by Robert Lovell and the Rev. Alexander Miller.
