Forsythe Intermediate Wins
Forsythe intermediate wins
Students from the Middle Years Alternative Program at Forsythe Intermediate School took more awards than any other school in the state in the Social Studies Olympiad I held earlier this month in West Bloomfield.
About 70 schools competed in the intermediate division, according to Dianne Davis, the Ann Arbor schools’ coordinator for social studies.
Tarek Sterling took second place in the poster division, and DavyvRothbart placed second in the essay division.
In the original script drama, a team of nine students also came in second in the state. The team included Maria Clark, Anne K. Gay, Becky Hamilton, Geoff Harlan, Katharine Manconi, Lara Proegler, Vera Siquel and Erica Stephan.
An MYA team placed fourth in the state in the Social Studies Bowl. That team included Stephan, Rothbart, Wade Crowfoot and Stephanie Wendelken.
