‘Paint ball’ shooters discouraged by police
Two 20-year-old Ann Arbor men who thought shooting cars with “paint balls” would be fun found out differently early today. City police were called to the 900 block of Greenwood St. shortly after 1 a.m. to investigate a report of men with guns. When they arrived they spotted one of two men holding what appeared to be an automatic handgun. He was told to drop the gun and both men were ordered to lie face down on the ground. They complied and approaching officers found the gun to be a pellet gun. The men said they had been firing balls of paint at parked cars owned by friends. They offered to clean the paint from the vehicles and did so while officers watched. Their pellet gun was confiscated.
