The Ann Arbor Six
On the brink of being drafted, six Ann Arbor High School graduates dropped out of college and enlisted en masse in the Air Force. The year was 1951. During their military careers, the men served in Korea, Greenland, France and Okinawa.
Today the six men still live in the Ann Arbor area, where they have carved out successful professional careers. Now some are retired, some are still working. All but one used the G.I. Bill to help pay for college educations. And, after 40 years, they're still friends.
