Nowak, Alvin W.
Of Ann Arbor Township, MI
Age 81, died July 17, 1991 at University Hospital after an extended illness. He was born April 9, 1910 in Northfield Township, the son of Edward O. and Emma (Neveroth) Nowak-Carpenter. He had been a life-long resident of Washtenaw County, and was married to Hulda Speidel on October 5, 1935. Mr. Nowak was a former supervisor of Hoover Ball and Bearing Company. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and was a graduate of Ann Arbor High School and attended Eastern Michigan University. Surviving are his wife, Hulda; one son, Alvin W. Jr. (Ione) of South Lyon; one daughter, Melinda Nowak of Thornton, CO; four grandchildren, Annunciata (Ed) Porterfield, Alvin John Nowak, Christopher Rogers, and Nicole Rogers; one niece, Barbara Gale and family; and several cousins and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith L. Rogers, April 23, 1991. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 20 at the MUEHLIG CHAPEL with the Rev. Parke Frederick officiating. Memorial tributes may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Judith L. Rogers Library Fund in care of the East Jackson Community Schools or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. Saturday, at the chapel, until the time of service.
