Age 84, died peacefully at home Friday November 29, 1991 after an extended battle with cancer. He was born March 8, 1907 in Highland Park, Michigan, the son of Parker O. and Christina E. (Paton) Pennington. Parker graduated from the University of Michigan in 1927, the University of Chicago in 1938, and taught in the Ann Arbor Public Schools for 33 years. In 1950 he followed a family camping tradition and began Camp Pennington, a traveling camp for high school youth which toured the western United States, Mexico and Canada each summer for the following 33 years. In 1927 he married Jeanne M. Perrin who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Gayle (Moore); three sons, Parker O. Pennington III of Ann Arbor, Wesley W. Pennington of Orlando, Florida, and David A. Pennington of Ann Arbor; two step-sons, Allen Moore and Steve Moore; his sister, Louise Owen; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A family memorial service is planned. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Arbor Hospice of Ann Arbor.
