James Moi has been appointed as the Asian Church Planter to the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area by the Southern Michigan conference of the Free Methodist Church. His objective is to help build a Christ-and Word-centered, cell church. Moi was ordained as a minister in the Free Methodist Church in July; his ministry dates to 1977 as a member of Campus Crusade for Christ in Malaysia. He also pastored and planted a Chinese Methodist Church in Malaysia. Under the leadership of Moi, a "cell" based church has begun to meet both in small group settings during the week and worship services on Sunday at the Ypsilanti Free Methodist Church where Moi presently has his office.
