Age 92, died Saturday, November 26 at University Hospital. Mr. Decker had been an Ann Arbor resident since 1982 when he married the former Ferol L. Brinkman. He was born in Zanesville, OH on February 5, 1902. After an early career as a singer, he received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the University of Nebraska and subsequently joined their faculty. He retired from his professorship in humanities at the University of Eastern New Mexico in 1967, moving to Fort Collins, CO. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean and daughter Marilyn Smith, M.D. He is survived by his wife Ferol; step-daughter Elizabeth and her husband, Benning Dexter, his son, John Decker, M.D. and granddaughters, Ingrid and Susan Decker of Ft. Collins; his son-in-law, Clyn Smith II, M.D. and grandsons, Clyn Smith III and Brian of Carmel, CA; and granddaughter, Sharon Smith Moon of Berkeley, CA. He has five great-grandchildren.
