Jeweler has caret-and-stick-to-it plan

Seyfried Jewelers has firm plans to stay in business in downtown Ann Arbor despite signs in their store window announcing that it “Must Raise Cash” and “Vaults Must be Emptied.”

The signs are a marketing effort by brothers Jim and Bill Hart to clean out old merchandise and get their 304 S. Main St. store ready for remodeling.

“We’re next to Kline’s and the scaffolding is up anyway,” says Bill Hart. The brothers say their shop may be closed for a few days while work is done. They did not give a schedule for closing and re-opening the store.
