Schleicher, Glenn R.

Age 82, died April 7, 2001 at Heartland Nursing Home. He was born June 8, 1916 to Adolph and Anna Schleicher. Married Irene A. Kapp on June 12, 1943 and she preceded him in death. In 1974 he married Melva Bird who also preceded him in death. He then married Ruth Carrow in 1979 and she survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Nancy (Bill) Lymangrover; a son, David G. Schleicher; step-son, Mark Carrow (Mary); step-daughters, Jackie (John) Szalay and Peggy (Ed) Ernst. Also seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He had been employed by Zemke Operated Machines and then as a Realtor at Spear and Associates. Glenn was well-known for his longtime involvement in Ann Arbor sports which included supervising youth and adult baseball, softball, and basketball programs. He umpired high school and college baseball and refereed high school football and basketball. Glenn was an avid cribbage player and also ran the city cribbage tournaments for numerous years. He was a member of West Side Methodist Church where a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10. Private graveside services will be held at Bethlehem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics - Washtenaw County or a charity of your choice. Arrangements by MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL.
