Dorothy Jane Savage Moon, 89, died Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at her home. She was born September 3, 1913 in Adrian, the daughter of Fred N. and Hazel F. (Kirk) Savage. On June 30, 1937 she was married to Harold Moon and he preceded her in death on August 26, 1995. Mrs. Moon was a member of Clinton United Church of Christ. She was a school teacher for many years, teaching at Henry Ford School of Home Arts, and the Clinton Community School. She was a member of Kappa Gamma Sorority at Adrian College. She attended Adrian College, Michigan State University, Merrill Palmer College and, Siena Heights University. Dorothy was a loving and caring teacher and a dear friend to all she met. She dedicated her life for the past thirty years caring for Mike. Mrs. Moon is survived by one son, Michael Moon of Clinton; two brothers, John (Carol) Savage of Manchester and Robert Savage of Detroit; one niece, Jan (Steve) Hannah of Ann Arbor; one nephew, John (Cathy) Savage of San Juan Capistrano, CA; and her loving, dedicated caregivers, and home care physician Dr. Vincent Elie. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. At her request cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Clinton United Church of Christ. Arrangements were entrusted to Couture-Handler Funeral Homes.
