■ $6,000 - The amount a westside homeowner reports Pall Life Sciences offered to pay for permission to drill two wells on her property near the corner of Jackson and Worden avenues. Pall is, of course, the Scio Township company trying to chase the pollution from its Wagner Road plant as the 1,4 dioxane contaminating local aquifers spreads east. The proposed deal required giving Pall access to the wells for 10 years. Although the company struck a deal elsewhere, this particular homeowner declined.
