Groundwater cleanup updated
People interested in learning more about a cleanup of groundwater on Ann Arbor’s west side can attend a public meeting Monday at 7 p.m.
The meeting will provide an update on dioxane cleanup activities, along with a history of the issue and explanation of groundwater use restrictions.
For details on the issue, visit the state Department of Environmental Quality’s Web site at www.michigan.gov/deqrrd and scroll to “contaminated sites list.” Then click on “Gelman Sciences Inc. site of contamination.” The meeting is cosponsored by the DEQ, Washtenaw County, City of Ann Arbor and citizen group the Coalition for Action on Remediation of Dioxane. The meeting is at the Washtenaw Intermediate School District, 1819 S. Wagner Road, Ann Arbor.
