Panel Discussion: From Ideas To Innovation: Developing New Medical Technologies With The Executive Director of UM Medical Innovation Center, Dr. James Geiger, and a Panel of UM Experts

The healthcare industry is undergoing a period of dramatic change due to mounting challenges such as increasing healthcare costs, reimbursement pressures and demographic changes. With change comes the opportunity for innovative solutions that make a real difference. Dr. James Geiger, Exec. Director of the Medical Innovation Center at the University of Michigan and the 2008/09 class of Innovation Fellows will discuss the development of new medical technologies that improve health care and services.This event is made possible through Partners In Research grants R03 NS065493 and R03 NS065491-0 from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke of the National Institutes of Health and is co-sponsored by the Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research and the UM Health Sciences Libraries.For more information you may be interested in some of our books and videos on the subject.
