Understanding Alzheimer's with The Alzheimer's Association and UM Research Experts

Every 70 seconds, someone develops Alzheimer's. But what exactly is Alzheimer's and what clinical research is being done in the area of this disease? At this program you will hear from experts in the field of Alzheimer's and have an opportunity to ask questions. The event will feature introductory remarks by Justine Galat, MSA South Central Regional Coordinator for the Alzheimer's Association Michigan Great Lakes Chapter, followed by a presentation on the disease given by Jennifer Howard of the Alzheimer's Association. Information on how to recognize the effects of Alzheimer's disease on the brain and how to gain access to community resources will be included. Other speakers will be Bruno Giordani, Ph.D., Director, Neuropsychology Section, U-M Clinical Core & Associate Director, MADRC and Nancy Barbas, M.D., M.S.W., Associate Professor, Department of Neurology, Director, Cognitive Disorders Clinic, University of Michigan.
