Northanger Abbey submitted by SBNB on July 28, 2014, 9:47pm I think this is my least favorite Jane Austen book. It's fun to read if you're a fan though.

Jane Austen Goes Meta submitted by stoutr on August 19, 2014, 11:22pm This is probably Austen's most sarcastic and funniest book, and also probably my favorite of hers. She makes fun of the popularity of gothic novels during her time by writing a pseudo-gothic novel (at least, the heroine thinks she's in a gothic novel), which is amusing.

Funny submitted by kathscot on July 20, 2017, 6:47pm So much is tongue in cheek. It's obviously the work of a younger mind, but fun to read.

Booklover main character submitted by alleywater on June 15, 2018, 12:53pm Kathrine is a perfectly imperfect heroine to follow her in the escapades of her first time out into society. Her view of the world has only hence far been viewed through books. But when the Allen's take her to Bath for the first time, she is thrown into balls, play, and new social interactions to handle. A great read for the Jane Austen fan or anyone who enjoys quick fast humor.

Fun Read submitted by majean on July 21, 2018, 3:47pm What a fun little read riffing on the ever-so-popular gothic novels.

Funny submitted by lstorc on August 28, 2018, 9:33am This is definitely Jane Austen's most humorous work! Strong recommendation

Very Funny! submitted by MartianSock on February 10, 2021, 11:53am And might I add, Henry Tilney is my spirit animal.

Solid Jane Austen submitted by tkuz5 on June 22, 2021, 8:20pm Enjoyed this book, though my least favorite Jane Austen

Northanger Abbey submitted by smgop on July 17, 2021, 9:52am If you're not a fan of sarcasm, this might not be for you. However, for JA fans this still fits the bill.

Hilarious! submitted by KatieD on August 19, 2021, 3:06pm If you know anything about the Gothic book craze, you'll find this book hilarious! The main character loves reading tales of horror and this influences her worldview in the funniest ways. It is a kind of satire of these kinds of books. Even if you don't know anything about Gothic literature, I think you will still enjoy the story and the characters!

Dreamboat Tilney submitted by bookasaurusray on July 27, 2022, 11:38am I know people love Darcy, but honestly, ya'll sleeping on Mr. Tilney. He's a charmer with a sense of humor. One of Austen's best love interests
