Disturbing submitted by rebecca.perreault on June 16, 2021, 3:38pm I watched the series first before reading this book. A lot of similarities between the show and book. But, the words sit more unsettled than watching the show alone. Joe is very creepy and a few of his intrusive thoughts sat with me. It made me self aware while I was running errands because Joe Goldberg felt almost real enough to exist in our reality.

Also a warning to readers, this book does have violence/murder scenes. I was disturbed that the mention of killing was purposely written so briefly and sterile because that's how it's processed by Joe.
