Historical Fiction for Teens submitted by sdunav on June 12, 2015, 5:41pm Teen book about the integration of a high school in Virginia in 1959. Pretty eye-opening, but the romance didn't fit into the story super well, in my opinion. Still highly recommended for kids 13+ (lots of use of the n-word, as you might expect given the time & place, and some kissing and the possibility of a same sex relationship). The main characters are 17-18 y.o. seniors - one African-American and one a segregationist.
