Interesting submitted by crp on August 24, 2019, 11:27pm Interesting and important narrative about a very momentous occasion in the US’s civil rights history

Powerful and Insightful submitted by LauraMarie on August 8, 2020, 9:20am This is a phenomenal memoir for young teens and adults alike. Lynda Blackmon Lowery shares her story clearly and with emotion. I learned SO MUCH about the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and how powerful YOUNG PEOPLE were in making change happen. I recommend pairing this with a viewing of the Hollywood film 'Selma,' as well as the documentary 'After Selma.'
