Lark Ainsley has yearned to become an adult by having her magical energy harvested, but when she is finally chosen a special talent is revealed and, rather than become a human battery powering the dome that protects humanity, she escapes hoping to find the Iron Wood, a wilderness rumored to be inhabited by others like herself.

Typical Dystopian Society submitted by steveiew on June 22, 2018, 9:43am The story starts like most Dystopian stories, with a girl happy to fall into the system the society has readily prepared. Then she finds out things aren't as they seem. She runs and finds out that the world outside is not what she has been told. While this book has all the makings of your normal dystopian society it also has a few twists that spice up the story.
