A well-written YA dystopian submitted by abenson on June 21, 2016, 7:00pm I really enjoyed this book - I thought Sabaa Tahir wrote a compelling story set in an interesting universe meant to resemble a dystopian-esque ancient Rome. The story features quite a bit of violence which would not be appropriate foryounger readers. I thought the characters and storyline were well developed, but my only complaint is that there was the standard YA love triangle, which I think is overdone/takes away from the meaningful parts of the story. Other than that, an enjoyable and intriguing read I would recommend for older students as well as adults.

Amazing book/series submitted by Fun reading101 on August 5, 2021, 10:03pm I really enjoyed this book. It is a meaningful story full of amazing and well written characters. It has an amazing world that is so detailed and not boring. We get two very different point of views that make the story more interesting. This book makes you feel so many emotions that make you feel attached to the story. It is fast paced with small twists throughout the story. It also has romance that evolves through the series. This is a dark and violent book and series that I recommend to fantasy lovers who enjoy interesting characters in a well written world.
