Eighteen-year-old Finn, an outsider in his quiet Midwestern town, is the only witness to the abduction of town favorite Roza, but his inability to distinguish between faces makes it difficult for him to help with the investigation, and subjects him to even more ridicule and bullying.

Magical realism submitted by romanticmind on July 11, 2015, 10:36am This was a delightful mix of magic and realism that reflected pretty well the way real life feels. I couldn't put it down!

Bone Gap submitted by mrondo on June 17, 2017, 10:26pm There were some things about this book I liked. I enjoyed the different character viewpoints, the well crafted chapter transitions, and the suspense. Nonetheless I'm still not a fan of magical realism. The story was somewhere in between realistic and fantasy and I would've preferred for it to just pick a side. The magic didn't add to the story, but rather made it disjointed. If it had been more magical overall it might have worked.
