Once Upon a Time... submitted by anonymous on August 30, 2007, 8:49am ...this was a fascinating best seller. This was in '83 -- a full quarter of a century ago. Sadly, this examination of class in America hasn't aged well. So many cultural shifts have taken place since the author did his research -- computers at home! Leasing cars! -- it seems the qualifiers of class he relied upon need adjusting.

I would love to see an updated version of this book.

Still Enjoyable submitted by schoenbaechlere on June 26, 2011, 9:08pm It may be outdated, but I think it's particularly fun to take the quiz at the end of the book to see where we fall on Fussell's hierarchy.
