Disappointing submitted by ColeenT on June 14, 2013, 8:57am I really liked the first novel. However in this one, American became really annoying. She kept switching backing and forth between liking Aspen and Maxon. I hated the ending.

Upsetting and Bad :( submitted by khaddrill on July 18, 2013, 11:26am This sequel doesn't live up to the first book. The first novel was really neat, exciting and cool, but this book just angered me. America was so whiny, always crying and very indecisive. She would keep switching her mind about which guy to choose based on all these stupid reasons. I mean come on, nobody's perfect! She became irrational and a little crazy towards the end.
I really hate to write a bad review about this book because the author seems so nice, funny and cool based on her website and youtube channel, but this book was a disappointment. Not to mention that the whole love triangle concept is very cliche.
Even though I didn't like this book, I plan to read the third book when it comes out in hope that the author can pick the series back up.

'Disappointing'? NO WAY!!!! submitted by Kadydja13 on August 4, 2014, 2:29pm THIS BOOK WAS AS GOOD as the first one! I thought this one was the most suspenseful, way better than the 1st.

Interesting submitted by unknown on June 22, 2015, 2:20pm Amazing plot

great submitted by yslee on July 2, 2015, 11:02am nice sequel to The Selection...very much enjoyed it

Loved IT! submitted by eagles on July 31, 2015, 9:41am I disagree with most of the reviews. It's not bad! It is suspenseful, and I thought it was pretty good :)

Good submitted by Mustafa Ali on August 20, 2015, 10:02pm I thought it was a good book but the first one was much better I can't wait to read the next!!! It's such an amazing series!!

awesome submitted by HT on August 25, 2015, 8:10pm I liked thh 1st one better, but still good

Read it in One day submitted by DL on August 19, 2017, 8:29am I couldn't put it down I got hooked on the first book and had to find out what happened next now where is the third book. The competition is getting interesting and more attacks on the palace not a good environment for love to grow.

Little Suspense and Love submitted by clb89 on June 16, 2018, 12:21am The Elite is book two of a series. In book two attacks on the palace are showing just how dangerous being one of the chosen can be. It's also getting more and more into the romance side of things and not just of the Prince and America but also of the other characters. A very good read.

In love submitted by caherne on August 1, 2018, 11:57am I love that America stood up for the ¨Favorite¨ (her friend). I mean come on you cant stop someone from falling in love. Yes it was kind of annoying but also suspenseful when America kept changing her mind about which boy and would she be good enough to be princess which she obviously would be.

Boring submitted by westrick on July 16, 2019, 3:29pm This book has a lot of potential but falls very short. The entire book America flip flops between Aspen and Maxon, depending on who she saw last and who she's with now. It's chapter after chapter of her running anxious thoughts. There's very little plot movement.

The Elite submitted by Varshini on July 30, 2019, 2:14am This book definitely wasn't as good as the first in my opinion. I still enjoyed reading it though. I think it was an okay sequel to The Selection. 4/5 stars!

Good book submitted by jasonc1177 on July 31, 2019, 7:56pm this book is great. Very interesting ~!@

Good but... submitted by sbeegees on August 13, 2019, 7:41pm This book was nice, but not really a great sequel. That being said, I really love the book after this, “The One”.
