You'll be hooked! submitted by SarahRose on December 30, 2009, 8:57am The mice and woodland animals of Redwall love peace and good eating, but they always seem to get drawn into violent conflict and ancient mysteries. The earliest books Jacques wrote tend to be the best because the characters seem to have the biggest challenges to overcome. Even though the books center around talking animals, there is nothing prissy about them. Like Watership Down, the Redwall books are classics that can be enjoyed by both boys and girls. The audiobook versions are also fun to listen to, especially since most of them are read by Brian Jacques himself.
