Fantastic! submitted by jcottey on June 25, 2016, 10:29am I did not want this book to end, it was so good. I'm feeling bereft, not knowing what happens next with Willowdean, our main character. She travels through a teenage year seemingly with confidence, but has her issues inside and discovers everyone else does too. There is friendship, romance, and even a beauty pageant. I love this book!

Delightful submitted by CeliaM on November 22, 2016, 3:36pm I've never been a Dolly Parton fan before but this book has me wanting to listen to "Jolene" on repeat. The characters really make this book. The pagent obsessed mother, the energetic best friend, the cute guy fry cook, and Willowdean at the heart of it all.

Great protagonist submitted by Jinxyluis on July 21, 2018, 12:22pm I loved this, even though it had a lot of honest pain I wasn't expecting. Could have been more friendship focused and less romance in my opinion though.

completely awstruck by this book! submitted by RowPio on July 12, 2019, 3:44pm This book was so amazing and I finished it in one day because I just could not put it down. I think it is so important that books like this are written because I felt like I could relate to the character and I don't find that in many books. (also I've had Joleen stuck in my head ever since I read this!)
