The fifteen-year-old Murry twins, Sandy and Dennys, are accidentally sent back to a strange Biblical time period, in which mythical beasts roam the desert and a man named Noah is building a boat in preparation for a great flood.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

My favorite L'Engle book submitted by marielle on August 6, 2011, 8:45am This is chronologically the fourth book in the Murry series, starting of course with L'Engle's most famous, A Wrinkle in Time. That said, it's a stands apart from the first three books in the series. In those, Meg and her little brother are the stars. In this book, they're left behind as the twins Sandy and Dennys get whisked back in time to the age of the flood.

This book is also a little more adult than the previous books; there's references to human mating practices, for one, although nothing graphic. It's hard to say exactly why I found this book better than the others; the world building itself is much richer, and I enjoyed the chance to get to know Sandy and Dennys better than just as "the twins."

A good book submitted by kathscot on July 20, 2013, 4:37pm It's nice to read a book that has a Christian viewpoint without being preachy.

Many Waters submitted by SBNB on July 31, 2014, 9:57pm This book follows the twins as they travel back to biblical times, right before the flood. It's nice to get to know these characters and interesting to be in a different setting. I love reading this book!

Many Waters submitted by Alex Hannah on July 22, 2016, 5:33am Sandy & Dennys Murry travelled to the time of Noah & the flood. Good book.

Enjoyable Read submitted by Gr33nl3af on August 6, 2023, 11:18pm This book was my favorite in the Wrinkle in Time series. Fascinating play with biblical characters that challenges the imagination. If you read the Wrinkle in Time books, this is a must read! Don't skip this one!
