Interesting Story submitted by monkk on July 25, 2019, 1:28pm I really did not expect to like this book. The author is a New York Times journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner, so I was expecting some fancy writing and I like writing that is everyday, down to earth. While he is an excellent writer, I don't think you get much more down to earth than Rick Bragg. His stories were great and his relationship with his mother (ultimately what the book is really about) is profound. I would highly suggest this to anyone who enjoys reading memoirs.
