COMMUNITY REVIEWS
No longer a fan submitted by sushai on June 23, 2020, 10:40pm I had a memory of reading and loving this book 25-30 years ago and revisited it via audiobook on a trip to Canada recently. That's when I discovered I didn't really care for the dog or the man who saved him! So much machismo. Which, of course is about the author. Now I'm afraid to take another look at Black Beauty...
Great submitted by TLW1998 on June 25, 2022, 8:29pm Great story about dogs
Classic book submitted by gkeller on August 6, 2024, 12:32pm This book is a captivating tale set during the Klondike Gold Rush. Based on the author’s own experience as a gold prospector, the story follows Buck, a domesticated dog who is “dognapped” and thrust into the harsh Alaskan wilderness. There, he must adapt to survive, tapping into his primal instincts. The novel beautifully explores themes of resilience, nature, and the fight for existence. It is a timeless classic.
