Another enjoyable YA novel! submitted by sfrantom on July 22, 2018, 4:43pm Novels written for the YA genre are really quite good, and this story is right up there. The unrequited love theme is given an extra boost in this book, and it all plays out at a pace that is nearly perfect. I like the mixture of writing styles and illustrations (even an orrery!) to paint a fuller picture of Maddy, who is a wonderfully crafted character. Now, the spoiler......I wasn't expecting a twist, but about 2/3 of the way through, I started to wonder, and then found myself feeling the gut punch; well done!

Just like The Sun Is Also A Star, Nicola Yoon took problems faced in life (sometimes not so realistic) , and wrote it into a beautiful novel. Even if you haven't gone through what the character has gone through, you still feel like you ARE the character. I felt sadness, happiness, anger, and even shock or surprise! Nicola Yoon has made one of the few books that has actually almost made me cry then laugh two seconds later.

Loved the little drawings that appear occasionally throughout the book. Loved more the unexpected plot twist at the end. It was so refreshing to like all of the characters in a book.

Everything, Everything submitted by jhaberich on August 22, 2022, 12:31pm I decided to read this book after Nicola Yoon's bestseller The Sun is Also a Star was so amazing, and I loved it! This book is about a girl who can't go out into the world because of her disease, but there is just so much world out there that avoiding it can't be forever. With a totally overprotective mom and a full-time nurse, she hardly has any hope- until the boy next door.
