Fascinating Read submitted by jessica_s on July 15, 2013, 10:36pm Like the more recent "Gone Girl," "Sharp Objects" is fascinating and I was hardly able to put it down. The plot-- and characters-- twists and turns in completely unexpected ways. I don't usually go for scary/suspenseful reads, but this walked the suspense line nicely.

Yuck. submitted by Juliettie on August 17, 2014, 10:48pm Why I read this, I do not know. I really did like Gone, Girl. I hated Dark Places. Dislike this one for similar reasons. I immediately sensed a "Flowers in the Attic" vibe and I was right on. I also felt ver little sympathy for the characters…Camille almost got some sympathy until her late-night activities. The worst for me, though, was the ending. I'm not squeamish, but those images are some that cannot be unseen. Yuck.

Did not like it! submitted by bookher on July 28, 2015, 4:33pm I flew through Gone Girl and really enjoyed it but Sharp Objects was horrible. I couldn't even finish it. Way too violent and disturbing to find it entertaining.

a dark mystery submitted by sumsaylor on July 31, 2015, 8:44pm Like all of Gillian Flynn's books this one is pretty dark. It's a thriller and I enjoyed it to the very end.

Typical Flynn Thriller submitted by steveiew on June 22, 2018, 11:39am While I enjoy the mystery and intrigue in Flynn's book I hate that I dislike all of the characters in her books. Sharp objects is no different. It's a book filled with really broken people who make bad choices. The story keeps me reading but I just grow so annoyed with the characters that I hope they get killed off.

Best of her books submitted by akeckert on August 8, 2018, 7:40pm I’ve read all of Gillian Flynn’s books and this is by far my favorite

Excellent and Disturbing submitted by lcbuday on August 31, 2018, 3:56pm This is by no means a book for the faint of heart, but if you're not easily disturbed (or don't mind disturbing things), give this a read. I was reluctant to pick it up at first as I didn't love Gone Girl, but I found this book completely enthralling.

A dark, but fun read! submitted by TeacherN on July 27, 2019, 12:14pm I enjoyed this book very much. Afterwards, I watched the HBO adaptation, and it was even better than the book (which is rare, I know). I highly recommend both.

Great read submitted by kitkat_l on June 11, 2022, 6:45pm Really enjoyed this book even if it was a little gory and disturbing at times. Good plot and a suspenseful read!

Sucks you right in submitted by blancharddana on June 27, 2022, 8:37am Suspenseful, compelling story - dark, but interesting and fun at the same time. I usually have trouble paying attention to books, but had no problem with this one!

Gave me the chills submitted by ellec on July 13, 2022, 5:24pm This book pulled me right in from beginning to end. I thought the author did an excellent job of letting the plot unfold, especially the twist at the end. It can be triggering for those with a history of self-harm or other mental disorders, however.
