Interesting Epidemiology submitted by sdunav on June 30, 2016, 5:34pm Incredible research, fascinating points of views, and much better written than most non-fiction and history!
Must read for anyone interested in public health submitted by emileeione on August 4, 2019, 11:45am Excellent telling of the story of John Snow and the Broad Street Pump and the discovery of how cholera is transmitted. The last chapter has interesting commentary on the spread of modern day epidemics.
A great book for anyone submitted by Jenningu on June 24, 2020, 10:38pm A story about the birth of modern day epidemiology, but no need for anyone to have a background in epidemiology or public health to read it. The author writes in a way that's incredibly engaging and goes beyond a dry historical-retelling, painting vivid scenes of London, its population, and illness in the 1800s.
Science Conquers Unsanitary Conditions submitted by ekjensen on August 27, 2022, 1:41pm The story of London’s worst cholera epidemic in 1854 and how it was investigated by 2 neighborhood individuals and ignored by the local government authorities as just another bad cholera season.
