Worth reading submitted by Cihendricks on July 9, 2019, 12:47pm This provides an interesting view on why some of America's great food writers and chefs chose to move the direction they did in the early 1970s. However, while Barr plays up the undeniable importance of his great-aunt M.F.K. Fisher, he doesn't give nearly enough credit to the likes of Alice Waters and the Moosewood collective for how they helped to influence the American culinary landscape of the 1970s.
