Inside an old and corrupt prison we see events unfold from multiple viewpoints:
-the deathrow inmate that has done A Bad Thing and interprets the world through a damaged reality
-the man scheduled for execution wishing to die
-the investigator hired to give him his reprieve (if possible)
-the ex-priest that counsels the inmates
-the guards working their own schemes
The novel questions 'fairness', 'reality', 'family' and 'innocence'.

My second Denfeld book and I look forward to the next. (less)
