Oh, boy is this book ever good. submitted by Carolyn J Petersen on June 1, 2014, 9:43am If you love food and the science of cooking, this book will grab you from the first page.

Food for thought submitted by mlaberteaux on July 27, 2014, 8:39pm As a fan of Ruth Reichl's memoirs, I enjoyed this novel. It's a great beach read. Fun plot, though predictable at times.

Delicious! submitted by smgop on July 29, 2014, 12:13pm This book was wonderful from beginning to end! Bravo, Ruth!

Enjoyable Read submitted by clmcdl on August 9, 2014, 4:26pm Interesting characters, good plot, definitely worth reading.

fun and enjoyable submitted by camelsamba on August 22, 2014, 9:48pm Overall, this was a fun and enjoyable book to read. The aspect I most enjoyed was the letters between James Beard and the girl. The least enjoyable was the long drawn-out reveal of the reason Billie avoids the kitchen - aspects of the process were overwrought. Good food writing, too. I want to experience Sal's store! (actually, what I really want to experience is the chocolate store... :^)

Delicious submitted by hcf on August 30, 2014, 10:26pm Ruth Reichl has written an enjoyable story.

I wanted to like it... submitted by bookher on July 17, 2015, 5:34pm but I just could not get into the story. I have read all of Ruth Reichl's other books and loved them but this one, not so much.

Foodie Fun submitted by 4Books on June 28, 2016, 8:46pm If you like food, recipes, NYC and a not-so-scary mystery, you might enjoy this book. I love RR's memoirs too!

Delicious! submitted by mvandermark on July 18, 2016, 1:27pm This book tells you what it is about right on the front cover. And it is, well, Delicious. The plot is very good. I warn you, if you start, you can never stop. It also teaches very good lessons, like to let go.

Such a fun read submitted by ahlalejini on July 18, 2022, 2:26pm Did this for book club and make the cake recipe in the back- such fun!
