I think I'd like to read a really good summary of this. I'm not up for writing one. The chapters are VERY detailed and go right into specific people and businesses of the time. It takes you right back to 200 years ago New York city.
It is easy to forget that at the start of the Revolution, New York city was held by the British. Even at that time there was vast food and drink. Turtle soup seemed an obsession. Every page I read about eating turtle makes me sad since sea turtles are so endangered now.
This is a great read for someone who wants to know the details of NYC throughout the years. The text formatting could be better. There are places where I cannot tell where quotation formatting starts and ends.
