interesting read submitted by andreynolds19 on July 9, 2017, 10:10am interesting how many of the topics discussed in this book can still be applied today. I think it could have been edited to be a bit shorter because there were definitely parts that dragged, but overall it was compelling.

Native Son submitted by crp on August 10, 2019, 6:53am A must read for today’s politics era with #45 as President. This book is a classic and should be required in all schools. It should be read with some discussion as well from parents to get the most of it, I think.

Relevant submitted by chowcy on August 28, 2020, 7:16pm This book was written in 1940, but the themes are so relevant to today's issues that I was surprised. The issues we were facing 80 years ago are still happening today: racism, systemic oppression, injustice. Especially within the context of BLM this year, this book could not have been more timely.
