Good for story time submitted by klickitat on August 31, 2012, 10:04pm I liked this although it felt a little bit like a Frankenbook (i.e. several picture book tropes mashed together): bears + color recognition + nature + idealized child/parent relationship. I'm not getting a strong Caldecott contender vibe from it (I read it because it was listed by Betsy Bird/Fuse #8 as a possibility) but I've been wrong before. I could see it being a well received story time title.

Great for 1-3 year olds submitted by KPNF on June 12, 2015, 3:35pm Momma bear answers Baby Bears questions about things he sees and smells, and then Baby Bear sees their colors. The illustrations are vibrant and clear and would be well-received by 1 - 3 year olds. There are also many smaller creatures that are hidden in the illustrations that are fun to find.

Bear Sees Blue submitted by SBNB on June 22, 2015, 5:28pm We liked this book. The pictures were nice. The nature was nice. The emphasis on colors was nice. And the story wasn't bad.
