Important perfumes submitted by ssands on July 25, 2017, 10:50pm This book has short sections on perfumes that have been important or influential. It differs from some other lists in that why a perfume was made and how it was influential are emphasized. It's organized by decade. It obviously can't cover every perfume and there were plenty that I'd like to have learned more about.
More Entertaining Than Educational submitted by OlfactoryBookworm on August 11, 2019, 1:26pm Most of the information in this book has been covered by fragrance blogs. If you weren’t reading fragrance blogs in their heyday, it’s a good place to start, but it’s not comprehensive and the narrative feels incomplete in parts. Hyped tone doesn’t compensate for lack of rigor. Read “Scent and Subversion: Decoding a Century of Provocative Perfume by Barbara Herman instead.
