Not by Mo Willems submitted by FordAlpha on August 15, 2018, 10:11pm "The Cookie Fiasco" is actually by Dan Santat, with a sort of introduction and afterward provided by Mo Willems in the guise of his popular characters Elephant and Piggie. Santat, despite his instinct for humor and his lively illustration style, does not have Willems' gift for choosing just the right vocabulary and syntax for beginning readers. My kids thought the story was funny, but it was more challenging for my beginning reader than the "Elephant and Piggie" books.

My kid loved this. submitted by GSchne on July 23, 2022, 9:56pm I'm not sure why. The illustrations are fine. The story is cute. It was entirely average, in my opinion, but my son couldn't get enough. We'd probably be reading it for bedtime tonight if I hadn't returned it to the library.
