Summary / Annotation
Promises and Play submitted by Sara W on July 10, 2017, 8:10pm This is a sweet and playful take on separation anxiety, without feeling like an "issue" book. The dad's answers to the different ways he would come and get his child if the car didn't start/the neighbors weren't home/the boat sailed away, etc. Cuteness abounds and the vintage-looking illustrations are a total win.
Daddy and Matthew submitted by kks on July 5, 2019, 8:22pm Daddy's old green car is having trouble starting! Funny pictures!
okay submitted by FordAlpha on August 22, 2019, 10:49pm Translated from French, this book definitely has a European feel. It's a sweet little story about a father reassuring a child who's anxious. The illustrations are brightly colored, but their style doesn't appeal to me very much; and the book didn't appeal to my kids, who sat through only one reading.
