COMMUNITY REVIEWS

And So It Begins submitted by LibraryLiz on July 22, 2016, 9:39pm Along with being full of history and romance, this start to the story of Claire - in a series founded on a book series known world-wide - is full of hard choices, grueling journey's, and secrets of the utmost importance. How long can a woman from the 1940's survive in 18th century Scotland? Much less, being a Brit when the Scots and British are at odds? Wonderfully acted, with beautiful scenery, and as much comedy as drama, this series is a great escape.

Great series submitted by laurenalysse on June 19, 2018, 10:01am I am loving this series. Claire is a great female lead -- complex, smart, and a feminist by all accounts. Jaime, her romantic interest is dashing and charming. The story is interesting and compelling. Worth watching!

<3 submitted by kbahleda on July 23, 2018, 9:58am Such an amazing series. The cast is amazing and you can't do anything but sit on the edge of your seats

Outlander. Season 1, Volume 1 submitted by lstorc on July 6, 2019, 9:05pm This starts out strong and dreamlike and then turns into a power hungry men at the expense of others show.

love it submitted by johnbiancke on July 9, 2019, 1:34pm Love this series However it is definitely for mature audiences

The Costumes <3 submitted by majean on July 27, 2019, 2:11pm This story and the show are so well thought out. Even when things don't seem to fit (like a certain costume style for a certain character), there is a reason. I love clever storytelling.

Great historical fiction submitted by crp on August 5, 2019, 8:46pm Great historical fiction

LOVE IT submitted by dree411 on August 31, 2019, 12:25pm Fantastic interpretation of the books.

Almost as good as the book! submitted by tkuz5 on September 1, 2019, 6:34pm This was a really good season! I read the books and this stands up pretty well. The characters are cast well and have good chemistry. Highly recommend!

I expected more submitted by parlettes on July 17, 2020, 11:50pm While I love period dramas (and who doesn't love a sexy love story), I often got bored of the characters. While the story did develop and had great moments, it doesn't reach the expectations my friends set for it.

Historical Fiction submitted by JHermanowski on July 18, 2020, 6:28am This first season is truer to the books than others. Can be very graphic at time, consistent with book. Can also be very frustrated. Considerable amount of nudity, not for children. Overall, exciting story line and worth the watch.

5 stars submitted by kat287 on July 13, 2023, 11:30pm Great adaption. True to book.
