COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Eh... submitted by Carbon14 on June 17, 2015, 3:33pm Not as good as I expected due to the child's ear piercing screams for attention but that aside the story was good. The movie is also Unrated so keep that in mind if you have younger teens or smaller children as it does have a few questionable moments.
chilling submitted by sumsaylor on July 15, 2015, 9:07pm What I love about this movie especially is the suspense. The Babadook really is one of the best horror movies I've seen in a long time.
Horror submitted by kks on August 27, 2016, 2:42pm The story was good. Mom and son's acting was good. Not that much scary.
Horror submitted by leenajong on August 3, 2017, 7:38pm Quite scary this movie.
modern "elevated" horror done right submitted by djchrist on October 12, 2024, 1:30pm "elevated" horror, in which the horror is really a ham-fisted metaphor for something, has become a bit of meme in the past couple of years but I think this movie is probably the best example of this kinda thing in the modern era. What I love most about it is how the movie consistently shifts our sympathies between characters throughout the runtime in a really effective way. Also the noise our friend the Babadook makes is SCARY.
