Wow!! submitted by rachel on June 15, 2015, 8:20pm It's a science fiction soundtrack right in your own house, generated just by moving around. Our kids love this!
Hooray!! submitted by teeris on July 20, 2015, 9:53am Sounds just like a full theremin, but now in a smaller, more portable form factor. Fun fact: the screen tells you the note you are currently playing to assist in the mastery of this instrument!
Great Sound submitted by Diahann on August 1, 2015, 8:55pm I was really amazed at such a unique sound when I walked past this instrument in the downtown library, I am glad that it was out for me to see and hear. Maybe I can use this one day.
Cool submitted by rainbownacho on July 8, 2016, 6:15pm I used this at a camp and it was one of the best parts. It had cool sounds and it's fun to play with.
Great, but read the manual! submitted by Greg_Gattuso on March 17, 2017, 12:41pm This instrument is a lot of fun, and a lot easier than the traditional Theremin. However it is pretty important to print out and read the instructions. That's because the Theremini needs to be calibrated every time you turn it on. Not to worry -- it's easy and it only takes a minute or two. You can place it on a table, but if you have a mic stand, that's probably the best way to support it (in the middle of a room, away from large metal objects and electronics). It has 30 built-in tones/effects and it even has a built-in speaker so you don't need an amp. If you' ve always wanted to try a Theremin, now you can -- thanks to the AADL!
Tons of Fun submitted by Meginator on July 2, 2017, 11:20am I was so psyched to be able to play around with the theremini! While you can make some interesting sounds and discoveries simply by taking the instrument out of the box and turning it on, I recommend taking a quick spin through the manual, at least to learn how to calibrate the theremini properly. We figured out how to make recognizable melodies within a few minutes and had a lot of fun exploring all of the different modes. Everyone should try this out, even if you don't think you're particularly musical.
Great! submitted by Tamer on July 29, 2017, 3:42pm The theremin is truly an astounding instrument. It is very difficult to play actual, tonal music on, but you can make it easier on yourself by increasing the pitch correction and decreasing the pitch range while you learn. If you are serious about learning to play the theremin, this is a great way to start. It does not come with a stand, however, but a table that is free of clutter will work just fine. I am really glad that my library has this resource for all of us.
So cool! submitted by nsvinicki on August 9, 2017, 1:58pm Of all the instruments to have at a library, I think this is the most fun. It's great for kids, and such a fun piece of American musical history!
Fun submitted by pixel gamer 3000 on August 13, 2017, 10:45am This little instrument was extremely amusing to play with, and was super easy to use. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good time.

I don't really understand how it works. But it sounds great. Very futuristic.
So much fun submitted by Aimless on August 6, 2019, 10:37pm Unfortunately my lack of musical talent is not hidden when I try to use this. Also I have a very successful at scoring a suspense movie
Great opportunity to experiment with sound! submitted by Melissa Calabrese on August 15, 2019, 8:34pm My preschooler and I had a lot of fun playing with this instrument! It is such a treat! After our initial exploration, I looked up the directions on YouTube to learn how to calibrate the machine. We will definitely check this out again!
