Electric Spinning Wheel submitted by Varshini on July 3, 2019, 7:19pm To be honest, I prefer regular spinning wheels, but this one was pretty cool too.
i love that the library has these tools! submitted by SushiSuze on February 19, 2020, 5:19pm i have been spinning on a treadle wheel for about a year, and wanted to try an e-spinner. what a gift that the library has these to try out. this is a great e-spinner to try, because it's easy to use and easily adjusted (takeup, spinning speed, etc.). fair warning: this spinner is quite large and the box is heavy to tote around. i learned that i do not enjoy the tactile experience of spinning on an e-spinner. i do think, however, that i would consider a smaller, lighter, more portable version of this spinner at some point in the future, to take on trips or tote to spinning circles on winter nights when lugging the traditional wheel is a big drag. literally. :0) after all, spinning on an electric wheel is better than not spinning at all! --- thanks to the library for having this tool available.
Fun change submitted by dlfredrickson on July 6, 2023, 6:59am This compact little e-spinner is a great option when you don't want to treadle with a traditional wheel. Its easy to make adjustments to the speed & direction. It is harder to stop/start with an e-spinner, since you need to anticipate it it a bit more than a traditional wheel. My wheel has a huge bobbin, so I can spin for long periods without needing to change it. The e-spinner has a pretty small bobbin, which can mean changing it out more frequently (and needing to ply more often). But I do really enjoy using this little e-spinner.
