More Sophisticated submitted by annecox on July 18, 2011, 10:11am Most people are familiar with Vanessa Carlton from her song "A Thousand Miles". This is her third album, and is much more sophisticated. There are lots of good syncopated rhythms as well as her signature piano. Really great, really enjoyable.

Great Piano Pop submitted by Meginator on June 16, 2023, 11:15pm This album continues Vanessa Carlton’s development as a musician and a songwriter, with the sweeping piano-based hooks that define her best songs and more sophisticated lyrics that reflect her personal growth over the years. The core musical mode here is satisfying pop with an artistic side to it, which is a perfect match for Carlton’s emotional vocal style and her ability to craft the instantly memorable piano parts that anchor each of the album’s tracks. I enjoyed this so much that I listened to it again immediately after finishing it, and then replayed a couple of my favorite tracks. Anyone who enjoys the sound of “A Thousand Miles” should be really satisfied with this album; it’s a gem from an underrated, immensely talented artist.
