Expected more submitted by ferielp on August 15, 2017, 9:53am I tried this because it has a lot of the same actors, producers, creators, etc from other things I've loved (Veronica Mars, Wet Hot American Summer, etc). With all that comedic potential I think the scripts did them a disservice and didn't find the tone of humor to best display their talents.

Loved this show submitted by jibkidder on July 5, 2022, 10:42pm Wish it had more seasons! I worked in catering for a short time, thought it really captured some of the absurdity of it. Enjoyed how each episode was an independent event - it gave the show a good form.

First season especially submitted by mbleed on June 11, 2023, 2:55pm good, the second as well. The later ones werent quite as tight comedically, with the actors all comign and going but still funny. I cant wait to read the comment cards....

Underrated Snarky Gem submitted by Meginator on August 6, 2025, 10:27pm This show doesn’t quite live up to its rave reviews, which makes sense given that most of the people who write best-of lists are intimately connected with the industry this show skewers, but it is still a solid workplace comedy built on a snarky sense of humor and the familiar experience of finding camaraderie with fellow coworkers while serving on the front lines of a low-paying and often demeaning customer service job. Most of the main characters have Hollywood ambitions, which unites them despite their clashing personalities and frequent verbal sparring and makes them relatable to viewers who have likewise found their ambitions derailed for reasons beyond their control, and their complex and shifting relationships form the show’s backbone and create its emotional core. The characters are remarkably complex for a show like this, aided by pitch-perfect casting, and though many of them are household names (particularly for anyone who has watched other Rob Thomas productions) they are believable and compelling as a ragtag bunch of misfits just trying to make it in Los Angeles. A party-of-the-week format gives each episode its own unique flavor, allowing for a revolving door of cameos and guest stars while fitting in perfectly with the show’s premise and giving each of the main cast members a chance to bask in the spotlight. This is a little gem of a comedy series with a distinct point of view, and it’s short enough that it’s worth a binge for viewers who appreciate quirky ensemble casts and dark, snarky, sarcastic humor.
