Rose Lorkowski is a single mother attempting to support her son Oscar and her unreliable sister Norah. She works a mundane job as a maid. Once the head cheerleader in school with plenty of prospects, Rose now has little to show for her life. She still sees the former head football player, but it is little more than a despondent affair. When Oscar is expelled from public school, Rose takes a job as a bio-hazard crime-scene cleaner to help pay for a private education. She brings Norah on to help in her steadily growing business. As the sisters work to clean up the messes left behind by the chaotic lives of others, they must learn to reconcile their own differences and overcome a troubled past if they hope to prosper in their newfound venture.
DVD, widescreen and full screen (1.33:1); Dolby Digital.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Good submitted by Chris82 on July 31, 2011, 8:44pm This is a cute movie about two girls who decide to quit thier maid jobs and go into crime scene cleanup to make money. It had great acting and a good plot.

good movie submitted by jszchen on August 26, 2011, 9:58pm I liked how they went about life

Drama, Not a Comedy submitted by jamullet on February 9, 2015, 4:27pm This was a very well done movie, but I didn't find anything funny about it. The story touches on some hard truths about life. The movie tells part of a story about a family who has had hard times, cares about each other very much, and is doing their very best in life. But their lives aren't easy, particularly fun, or even what they had hoped for. They struggle to look forward and keep moving forward, taking care of one another, and getting back up when tragedies and set backs hit. I would call this thought provoking, perhaps, but not funny. Don't expect a light funny movie with cute one liners.

Cute submitted by hollieesper121573 on July 19, 2017, 6:47pm I thought it was a cute movie

Quirky submitted by Meginator on July 21, 2017, 7:52pm Sunshine Cleaners is a quirky comedic drama that is surprising in a lot of ways. The acting is great and genuinely moving due to a great script and great acting. The subject matter can be a bit heavy but the film isn't as dark as you would expect from the premise. This is a nice character-centered drama.

Good but not great submitted by mandevil on March 13, 2019, 2:19pm Two sisters struggling to stay afloat. Emily Blunt in an early role.

Sunshine Cleaning submitted by c_zhang on June 29, 2019, 1:04pm More of a drama than a comedy. Not as light-hearted as I was expecting.

Gory submitted by Clown81 on July 27, 2019, 7:52pm A lot of blood in this movie.
