Loved this episode! submitted by VmT on June 21, 2016, 7:42pm This episode was great and really appeals to all generations of Star Wars fans!

The Force Awakens submitted by SBNB on June 30, 2016, 2:26pm Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. I liked it for the most part and it was fun seeing the story continue, but overall, I was kind of bored. I hope the next one is better.

A Fitting Sequel submitted by hduke on July 9, 2016, 8:20am As someone who grew up watching the original trilogy, I thought this was a fitting sequel. I laughed, I cried, and thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I particularly enjoyed the friendship between Rey and Finn, and the adorableness of bb8. 91/2 out of 10

Great submitted by DL on July 12, 2016, 6:18am It was great to see Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, CP30 and R2D2. The story ends that you want the next movie to come out soon.

Excellent submitted by leenajong on July 13, 2016, 3:50am One of my all time favorites!!

Finally at long last submitted by ishhewitt on July 14, 2016, 6:22pm A new Star Wars film worthy of viewing by the fans. An amazing film, even if you've never seen any of the previous films or read any of the lore, it provides an easy entrance into the world. For those of us well versed it's a refreshing take on a familiar story arc and exciting to see new Jedi discovering their powers. Very thrilling.

Amazing submitted by kelleyc on July 27, 2016, 6:37am Go Star Wars! A fantastic addition to a timeless classic.

SWTFA submitted by a2sue on July 20, 2017, 9:50pm OK, I'm really over the Star Wars franchise already -- Star Wars: The Force Awakens was so completely unnecessary!!

Nice Continuation submitted by Meginator on August 6, 2017, 11:14am Star Wars: The Force Awakens is an excellent continuation of the Star Wars saga, and a welcome opportunity to explore the complexity of the Star Wars universe and the effects of the events in from the original trilogy (sextet?). This film has all of the action you expect and want from a Star Wars film, delivered with a more modern (and very welcome) sensibility. Like its predecessors, the film leans too heavily on CGI effects that stray into uncanny valley territory, but its new heroes are easy to root for and relate to and its new villains just as compelling as the earlier ones (and, sadly, just as relevant). Overall, this is a very good film that gets the series moving in the right direction again.

A lot of fun submitted by FordAlpha on August 28, 2017, 11:09am It's as entertaining and silly as a "Star Wars" movie should be. My biggest criticism is that unlike in the original trilogy, there's no sense that space travel takes any time at all. Everybody seems to be able to go from any point in the galaxy to any other point pretty much instantly. So why bother with maps at all? The whole "missing piece of a map" idea doesn't make any sense. But it doesn't need to make sense. It just needs to be fun. This movie is fun.

Movie submitted by hannahjosh on June 18, 2018, 6:52am When we watched this movie I had no idea that someone very special was going to die. In the movie there were new characters, like Poe Dameron, Finn (FN-2187), Rey, Kilo Ren (Ben Solo). But the whole plot was to destroy the first order, but also find Luke Skywalker. When I watch the bonus my dad had for the force awakens, I watched it. In one of the bonus features, an actor actually said that he would let his character die in the movie. BUT this is a way to add new actors and characters. If you want to find out who dies in the movie WATCH it. But just a reminder, all the star wars movies are PG-13. So you might have to wait.

Psssst over here… If you want to know who died in the movie, look up Harrison Ford, he's the actor who played the person who died.

Great to see the old with the new! submitted by Xris on June 19, 2018, 9:35pm I love that the original characters are grown up and helping out the new characters! <3

yes submitted by Jelliekim on June 21, 2018, 7:57pm so good!!!!!!!!

Great movie to bring back star wars submitted by tcrbondy on June 23, 2018, 8:15pm Although similar in many respects to the original new hope, this movie has great new characters entering into the history and lore of the jedi and the battle between good and evil wielding the power and balance the force brings. Beautiful aesthetics and music

Okay submitted by zmclaugh on July 12, 2018, 7:06pm A lot of callbacks to the original.

BOOOOOOOOOOORING! submitted by bookworms on July 14, 2018, 2:59pm What a horrible disappointment! This was a real letdown. The characters were a little bleh, and the new villain, Kylo Ren, was just the worst. The only good thing about this movie was the quality and effects. It looked very good, but nothing could make up for the stale plot.

One question, why does Kylo Ren have Darth Vader's helmet? Did someone retrieve it from the exploding death Star? Oh, and why is Poe Dameron so young? Wasn't he Luke's pilot buddy from a new hope? Shouldn't he be as old as Luke? Just a few thoughts...

Great Start submitted by Rumshaker13 on July 27, 2018, 11:48am Great start to the next trilogy

!! submitted by anupamap on August 17, 2018, 9:16am It was great all in all but I think the first three are better than the rest except the last jedi

BB8 submitted by jduffy12 on August 31, 2018, 10:54pm Gotta love the little guy

Another soft reboot from hollywood submitted by Nehemiah9 on August 3, 2019, 7:56pm I was actually pretty happy with it when it first came out but The Last Jedi has erased everything positive I felt about it. Both this and the last Jedi pretty much destroy the characters from the original trilogy while presenting some pretty poor replacements for them. Actually I did like all of the new characters in this film until The Last Jedi undid or ignored everything about them. I really wanted to just write a review of The Last Jedi (if you couldn't tell) but it's not available from the library yet. After some thought I actually do have a problem with every beat of the film being lifted from A New Hope as well as JJ Abrams super frustrating mystery box mysteries that are always let downs or never resolved (who is Snoke?, who are Rey's parents?, how did Han Solo and Chewbacca find the Millenium Falcon 15 minutes after they left the planet?, whoops) Anybody remember Lost? So I'm not too optimistic for the third in the series. Maybe if it ends up being good I can watch this one and the third one and just pretend the 2nd one doesn't exist.

A nice relaunch of the saga submitted by SaraP on August 4, 2019, 8:23am The new characters are good and the effects are fantastic. it's a bit of a slog at times, but the action and humor are nice.

Nice submitted by pepemama on August 14, 2019, 6:27pm Good reboot of Star wars

Good stuff from Lucas submitted by yufamily on August 6, 2021, 11:15pm The saga continues

It had SO much potential!! submitted by journeyhawthorne on August 7, 2022, 12:30pm The best film in the third trilogy, in my opinion. It had so much potential and was really, really fun! I was really disappointed in how the two directors of this trilogy tried to ret-con the other's work, as it made the trilogy on the whole a disjointed mess. The new characters introduced were fun and interesting additions to the cast, but I wish they had given more time to developing them throughout the series.

Good submitted by Abbie D. on August 21, 2022, 4:33pm I liked this movie!!

A good homage to the original submitted by timbresson on August 21, 2023, 12:16pm I know this movie can be quite contentious with old fans, but there is still the same charm present in this film as there was in the older films. The humor is light and campy. The action is fast and snappy. The cast is enjoyable and larger than life. I see no reason to be upset with the reboot of the series other than just letting a sleeping dog lie. More is more. The Star Wars universe is vast. Give it an open mind perspective and you’ll find an enjoyable couple hours of watching
